When I hit 30 (sigh), I became much more aware of those fine lines and wrinkles (gasp). I have started to take a vested interest in my skin, and I feel like it's paying off. I honestly used to cleanse with water and moisturize with men’s Kiehls Facial Fuel because I liked the way it smelled. Not exactly a good reason to purchase skin care. Now it's a whole new shopping world. Totally addictive. I think if I come home with one more Sephora bag my husband is going to kill me. These have been my must haves lately.
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Mist: I use this after I moisturize, its perfect for those days when I go without makeup. It gives you a luminous, dewy glow. You can also use it after you apply your makeup to “set it,” or to give yourself a little pick me up throughout the day.
Drunk Elephant Vitamin C Serum: I have heard such good things about this brightening serum. When I tried it in the store, I wasn’t wild about the smell or the way it felt on my fingers. I broke down and got it anyway because people swear by it. They weren’t kidding. It’s loaded with vitamin C and other antioxidants that pack a big punch. Needless to say it lives up to the hype. It made my skin brighter and firmer in the first few uses.
Sunday Riley Luna: My first ever product with retinol, which made me a little nervous. I read a lot of reviews before I used it, some said they experienced peeling and redness for the first few nights, thankfully, I did not. I started out slow, and now I use it every other night. When I wake up I notice a difference in my skin.
James Read Sleep Mask Tan Face: Provides a perfect natural glow. Use this two times a week for that “I just got home from the Caribbean” look. It doesn’t smell harsh like your traditional self-tanners and contains Hyaluronic Acid, Red Algae, and Aloe Vera to hydrate your skin as it develops a tan. Rosie Huntington-Whitley swears but this stuff and now so do I.
Boscia Black Luminous Mask: I love a good face mask. They can be so relaxing, and you really notice a difference in your skin afterwards. This black peel off mask became a fast favorite. I ran into my skin care girl (thanks Lacy) at Sephora last weekend (not good for my credit card), and we got into some trouble. I ended up getting this mask just to try it out, mostly because I love watching those videos where they peel it off, it's just so satisfying. To say the results were noticeable was an understatement. Luminous skin for sure.
La Mer Eye Concentrate: Like I said, this is the holy grail of eye creams. Expensive yes, but you only need a little, so it lasts a long time. It takes care of those dreaded dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness. The perfect cure for a 12-hour shift or a hangover.
