Drugstore Discoveries

I love Sephora as much as the next guy. Lately, a little too much. The problem is a Sephora habit can get expensive. Trust me, I am the first person to advocate spending the extra money on skin care. You only get one face so you might as well put the best products on it to keep it looking radiant, baby soft, and wrinkle free. The drugstore has some really good finds but it can be overwhelming. I find when I’m combing through the aisles everything is calling my name.  I some how can’t ever walk out ofCVS without spending at least $100. EVERY TIME. The worst part is everything looks so appealing, but you can’t sample it. So you end up buying something, it doesn’t look as fabulous or life changing as you thought it was going to,  and now you’re stuck with it. Here are some of my favorite drugstore products, all under $20.

Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid: A few weeks ago my sister was home and I couldn’t stop staring at her cheek bones, they were highlighted exquisitely. I asked what she used expecting to hear a fancy brand. She replied that she bought it by accident at CVS. Needless to say, I went out and got it the next day. For $10 it's a great alternative to the pricier luxury brands. I mix it with a little Vaseline before applying to give it that added dewy glow. I have the light shade.

Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water:  Its micellar technology is like a magnet to dirt, oil, and makeup. I no longer have to rub to get my waterproof mascara off, which makes me way more inclined to wear it.

Maybelline Volum’ Express The Rocket Mascara: This is my most favorite mascara. I am always on the hunt for a good one. Who isn’t, right?  I have tried all the expensive mascaras and probably almost all the brands at CVS, but I always come back to this one. It never clumps, never flakes off, and separates all my lashes perfectly.

Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm: Every girl should have a tin of Vaseline in their medicine cabinet and one in her bag. There are so many different ways to use it. It can be used as a makeup remover or a lash conditioner. I even read somewhere if you apply it before bed at night it makes your lashes grow. I like to mix it with my highlighter to achieve a dewy glow or put it on my eyelids to brighten them up.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser:  This face cleanser is gentle but also gets the job done. I have sensitive skin, so it's perfect.

CVS Hair, Skin & Nails 2,500mcg Biotin Gummies: These babies are miracle workers and they taste good. I have used Viviscal Hair Growth Supplements at $60 a box, and I don’t think they work nearly as well. I used to have all these baby hairs around my hairline that drove me crazy. Now they are all grown out, the power of the gummies is real.

NYX Wonder Pencil in Light: I use this pencil in the corner of my eye to brighten. Helps to combat those tired eyes and make you look like you slept 12 hours.

Revlon Balm Stain (Cherished Devotion): Don’t be afraid of the color. It’s not as “Barbie” as it looks. I promise. Gives you an understated light pink pout. Great for everyday.

Olly Restful Sleep Vitamins: I love these. They are perfect for those nights you just can’t seem to fall asleep. Take two, 30 minuets before bed…..night night.
