I have been living in this shirt all summer. I was unsure about it when I ordered it because I tend to stay away from tops with sleeves like this one. I was a swimmer all through high school, and I generally didn't like to accentuate my shoulders with things like ruffles. No one wants to look like they're wearing a Star Trek uniform. There was something about this top (probably the high neck, surprise, surprise) that I liked, and I thought it just might work. With a $40 price tag, it was worth a shot.
When I got it, I have to admit that the ruffles took some getting used to. I also have to tell you that there were two layers on the sleeves, the bottom layer being much more voluminous, so I played tailor, which I have been doing a lot lately (hello, raw hem jeans). I cut off the bottom ruffle, and it completely changed the shirt for me. I have been wearing it non-stop. It also comes in a pretty french blue color. It's gauzy and lightweight, perfect for warm summer weather.
I paired it with my trusty Steve Madden block heels, skinny jeans (which I also played tailor on when I cut the bottom), and a fun patchwork clutch.
